What's Your Approach?

I recently had the opportunity to take my family on a Disney Cruise. I must admit that I was excited myself to go, however, I was even more excited to watch my almost 3 year old get the chance to experience, in real life, some of the characters he has grown to love. I honestly had no clue what he would do when given the chance to meet Mickey because our last Santa Clause experience was a total and complete disaster. I will never forget, though, and I sure wish I could show you his face when he first met Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc. He was in complete awe. He literally would just walk right up to them boldly with a giant grin on his face, hug them, then stand and look at them. It was sometimes a challenge to get him to turn around for a picture because he was in the moment, taking every second in. He would have stayed there the rest of the day if we would have let him and if there were not twenty other people standing in line waiting.

As a parent, I loved watching all of that go down. I also always seem to learn a lot from watching my little guy approach life. Bottom line, he approached boldly and worshipped. He would have done it all day long too if we would have let him and that’s what we need to do with our Father in Heaven. I think it can really be that simple. We are the ones who have made it complicated.
