As a church, some of our members are experiencing some real trials in their lives. Just recently we’ve heard about the family that lost their house, a family member struggling with an addiction. In the news we’ve heard about the wild fires that are going on over near San Diego, tornadoes ripping through the South, and the social unrest happening in the Ukraine.
With all these negative stories, one can’t help but feel pain and agony for our brothers and sisters. As a church we will continually pray and support those in need. Whenever I get a “one call” or hear about a tragedy around the world I think of this Bible verse: 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
All believers can take comfort that even through our struggles, our pains, our trials, there will be a day when there will be no pain or crying because we will be in Heaven. We will spend eternity with the King, our Father, and our Savior…oh, how comforting that is.
