God is Gracious

My favorite sport is baseball because even though it’s a team sport, many aspects of the game depend on the individual. I believe God has blessed me with knowing a lot about the game; as well as being an image bearer for Him to teammates, coaches, and now players.

This year I started coaching baseball at Fairland, and with all its triumphs there are many challenges. Many times during our practices I will correct players on why they are not hitting the ball well, or throwing strikes. I continually say the same things to players, and they still make the same mistakes.

After a while I couldn’t help but think that the Israelites, believers, and non-believers are like my players. God through his prophets, pastors, and the Bible tell us how to live our lives, and we sometimes continue to make the same mistakes. That makes Jesus dying on the crossing that much more important! One of my favorite verses is Psalm 103: 8-13. It talks about how God does not repay us according to our sins; if you get a chance read these verses and I think you’ll understand why they’re so powerful.
