I Love You, Daddy

I have been blessed with the opportunity to do many cool, adventurous things. I’ve been inside the pyramids of Egypt, dogsledding on a glacier in Alaska, swimming with sharks in Hawaii, and even skydiving to name a few. I had something happen this week, though, that blows all of that out of the water.

This week, for the first time, I heard my son say the words, “I love you, Daddy”. Kristen and I have been trying our best to get him to say those words for months now. He’s been more than capable. He just has not. Most things with him, he does when he wants and in his timing. I must admit, though, that finally hearing those words was nothing short of awesome and surpasses any of those other cool things I’ve done. My heart now smiles every time he says those words to me. While being a father has its challenges at times, this undoubtedly was one of those special moments. I cannot help but think about our Heavenly Father. We are His children. Have YOU said, “I love you, Daddy” to Him lately? I think He probably smiles…
